About the event

An arm balance workshop for all levels sounds is an  exciting and dynamic experience! 

  1. Warm-up and Preparation: Begin with a thorough warm-up sequence that targets the wrists, shoulders, core, and hips. Incorporate dynamic movements and stretches to awaken the body and prepare it for arm balances.
  2. Foundation and Alignment: Break down the foundational principles of arm balances, including proper alignment, engagement of core muscles, and weight distribution. Emphasize the importance of building strength and stability gradually.
  3. Variety of Poses: Explore a variety of arm balances suitable for different levels, from beginner-friendly poses like Crow Pose (Bakasana) to more advanced variations like Flying Pigeon Pose (Eka Pada Galavasana). Offer modifications and progressions to cater to participants of all abilities.
  4. Spotting and Safety: Provide guidance on spotting techniques and safety precautions to minimize the risk of injury during arm balances. Encourage participants to practice within their limits and listen to their bodies.
  5. Breath and Mindfulness: Emphasize the role of breath awareness and mindfulness in maintaining focus and balance during arm balances. Encourage participants to cultivate a sense of presence and inner calm.
  6. Partner Work and Support: Include partner exercises and group activities to foster a sense of camaraderie and support among participants. Partner spotting can also provide additional assistance and confidence for those trying challenging poses.
  7. Cool-down and Relaxation: Conclude the workshop with a gentle cool-down and relaxation techniques to release tension in the body and promote a sense of ease. Offer guided meditation or savasana to integrate the benefits of the practice.
  8. Celebration and Reflection: Take time to celebrate achievements and milestones reached during the workshop. Encourage participants to reflect on their experiences and set intentions for their ongoing arm balance practice.
